It is not just any Comic Book!

Painting by Sharon Moody (3)

Why would I be featuring comic books? Well, the answer is simple: these images are hyperrealist paintings by Sharon Moody. Her artwork (both theme and technique) remind me a lot of Doug Bloodworth’s oil paintings.

Releases: Parra x Kidrobot – “Pierced” Figure

May 20th, 2012 § Comments Off § permalink

On June 7th, Kidrobot will be releasing (in-store and online) a new figure from Dutch artist Parra entitled Pierced. The 10-inch vinyl sculpture is inspired by the melodramatic cover art of romance novels and based on imagery from his original silkscreen artwork. The entwined figures which demonstrate the simultaneous pain and pleasure that many experience while in love will set collectors back $150 and will be limited to an edition of 300.

MAD’s Laser Etched Mini MAD*L might be coming soon!

May 20th, 2012 § Comments Off § permalink

We recently quoted Jeremy "MAD" Madl as saying that "there's lots more coming" in reference to his popular hand-cast resin Mini MAD*L releases and now we're wondering if he might've been implying the above… It certainly is a Mini MAD*L figure and we're told it is a laser etching test piece. Not only does it look absolutely fantastic, but — historically — the piece itself became available only a week or two after a teaser picture like this one surfaces, so keep your eyes peeled. I have a feeling this might be the most in-demand version of the Mini MAD*L yet.

The most intense colors are those we can remember, such as the red of a clown´s nose, the yellow of a rubber duckie, the pink of cotton Candy or the green of a swamp monster.Well, Clorox for Colors keep colors in that way.

“Clorox for colors. Keep colors the way you remember them.”
